Ending Romanesque, Beginning Gothic- IMPORTANT PLOG POST

Hi everyone. Here are some random thoughts/notes about Romanesque and Gothic stuff:

A. Don't worry about a Romanesque quiz or test any time soon. I'm putting Romanesque and Gothic questions together on one test. So no need to worry about any tests or quizzes until after midterms :)  Mr. Covino will finish up Romanesque with you. Look further back in this blog for the PowerPoint if you want to go back and look at it during your own time.

B. Keep working on your midterm project. Scroll down in this blog to see the deadlines for EVERYTHING pertaining to your midterm project. Stay on top of these deadlines please :)

C. I'll post grades for the sacred spaces essays and Medieval quizzes as soon as I finish them. Sorry, I was a little preoccupied this weekend!

D. Gothic chapter questions AND Gothic student slides are due on Friday of this week. Please e-mail me your PowerPoint slide so I can put it together over the weekend (rather than put it on the student drive). You can hand in your Gothic chapter questions to Mr. Cavino on Friday, or e-mail them to me. Whatever floats your boat. Here are the Gothic questions (chapter 16) and the list of who-has-what for the student slides:

CHAPTER 16 GOTHIC QUESTIONS

1.     Why did Abbot Suger want Saint-Denis rebuilt, and how did he achieve his goal?
2.     Why did the “rediscovery” of literary work from Classical antiquity pose a challenge to Christian theology?

7.     What is the Rayonnant Style and where do we see it used? Use a specific example to describe its attributes.
