YOUR TAKE-HOME QUIZZES ARE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD FROM GOOGLE DOCS!

For those of you who are missing quizzes, here are the links to download them. There WERE copies of every quiz (except African because I forgot to bring them) at the midterm, and yet.... Not everyone went home with one. I'm not sure why that happened. You are NOT taking the quiz for the culture that you presented. So in all, you should complete five take-home quizzes.
Deadline reminders:

Completed take-home quizzes due: Friday, February 7 (you should have FIVE)
Graded take-home quizzes due: Thursday, February 13 (your group collects and grades the quizzes)

We will have presentations on JAPANESE ART and ART OF THE AMERICAS on Thursday of this week. Sorry we didn't fit you in!

Also, a Romanesque/Gothic test AND questions for chapter 17 (14th century art in Europe) will be  coming up soon, so I'd get the quizzes for Chinese, Indian/Southeast Asia, African, and Pacific art done asap so the work doesn't pile up. Here are links to ALL the quizzes. If you have trouble with a link, let me know and I can e-mail you the file. But if you already have a hard copy, just go with that. Scroll down to see the PowerPoints from each group (you may have to look back through older posts because there were six PowerPoints)

Midterms Reminder

Hi folks. This is a reminder that I need your group's PowerPoint presentation and your quiz. They were due yesterday, and I don't have all of them yet. There are a few ways you can get this stuff to me:
-e-mail the files to me
-share the files on Google with me (but you have to e-mail me first so I can tell you how to add me)
-bring the files to my classroom on a flash drive and I'll quickly save them here
-upload your files to the studentW drive

 Why don't I have everyone's work yet? :(

Ending Romanesque, Beginning Gothic- IMPORTANT PLOG POST

Hi everyone. Here are some random thoughts/notes about Romanesque and Gothic stuff:

A. Don't worry about a Romanesque quiz or test any time soon. I'm putting Romanesque and Gothic questions together on one test. So no need to worry about any tests or quizzes until after midterms :)  Mr. Covino will finish up Romanesque with you. Look further back in this blog for the PowerPoint if you want to go back and look at it during your own time.

B. Keep working on your midterm project. Scroll down in this blog to see the deadlines for EVERYTHING pertaining to your midterm project. Stay on top of these deadlines please :)

C. I'll post grades for the sacred spaces essays and Medieval quizzes as soon as I finish them. Sorry, I was a little preoccupied this weekend!

D. Gothic chapter questions AND Gothic student slides are due on Friday of this week. Please e-mail me your PowerPoint slide so I can put it together over the weekend (rather than put it on the student drive). You can hand in your Gothic chapter questions to Mr. Cavino on Friday, or e-mail them to me. Whatever floats your boat. Here are the Gothic questions (chapter 16) and the list of who-has-what for the student slides:

CHAPTER 16 GOTHIC QUESTIONS

1.     Why did Abbot Suger want Saint-Denis rebuilt, and how did he achieve his goal?
2.     Why did the “rediscovery” of literary work from Classical antiquity pose a challenge to Christian theology?
3.     What is a flying buttress, what is its purpose, and where is it used on the Cathedral of Notre Dame, Paris?

7.     What is the Rayonnant Style and where do we see it used? Use a specific example to describe its attributes.
